The original Frame & Picture Shoppe opened its doors in 1996 by professional framer Kimberley Breil. After 25 years, Kimberley has retired allowing for new owner and Frame ArtÍst Rik Alvarez to take over the business. Rik believes in carrying on the high standards people have come to expect from the Frame & Picture Shoppe and does so by following all the same techniques imparted to him by Kimberley.
Each treasured possession brought into the store, both large and small, from paintings to photographs to diplomas or even comic books are delicately and expertly handled. Every single item brought in deserves the best conservation framing techniques which will allow it to last and be passed down for multiple generations. We know every item is invaluable to their owner so if it’s worth framing then it should be framed to last.
Inside the Frame & Picture Shoppe there is also has a gallery filled with framed works of art, beautiful and unusually shaped mirrors, and artwork by local artists. Our two prominently featured local artists are Jeff Kern and television personality Susan Tilton Pecora.
In addition to various pop culture artwork, the Frame & Picture Shoppe also features several works from comic book and toy design artists such as E.J. Su, Ken Christiansen, Larry Selman and Aaron Archer.
Frame & Picture Shoppe was voted Valley Advocate Readers Poll, Best of the Valley 2007, 2008, 2009, & 2011 and Best of Springfield 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006.
